Fall sensory and scripture bins! Have fun and learn and grow with this fall themed sensory bin. My 2.5 year old loves scooping and playing with the corn. My 5 year old really enjoyed sorting and examining the different leaves and also making patterns with the big leaves.
Introduce one activity at a time and then mix them all together:
🐿 Acorns - sort small/large, sort by color, spell name (if you choose to have letters written on)
🐿 Acrylic fall items - sort leaves by shapes, sort items by color, patterns, use sorting sheet, pick up with tongs
🐿 Silk leaves - there are 4 of each color, match them or make patterns with the leaves
🐿 Scripture - say these verses as you play. Put the cards in a place where you will see it often and read them out loud when you do. What great discussion can be had when you talk about how the seasons change, but our God never does! He is always good in every season.
🐿 Fun - scoop, play, use your imagination!

Hello October! Pumpkins are everywhere right now and going on pumpkin scavenger hunts are our new after dinner family walk activity.
Outdoor scavenger hunts have been a life saver for us since March. Literally we have done it all, numbers, flowers, planes, dogs...you name it, we've hunted for it.
Tonight I quickly make a couple pumpkin tally sheets for my kids as we went on our walk. My two year got a simply tally sheet - she basically just did her own thing. And the sheet for my five year old was separated by types of pumpkins - real, plastic, and inflatable. They were both excited to search for pumpkins and tally on their sheets!
Almost every house by us has some kind of pumpkins out, and some houses have like twenty! So to make sure we kept walking, we would do one tally for each type of pumpkin we saw at each house.
When we got home, and the kids were in bed, I made some more pumpkin scavenger hunt sheets to use next time on my computer. Of course the construction paper version works too, but this makes it easier to share with all of you! ;)
Dinosaur play dough kits 😍 We have been obsessed with dinosaurs over here 🦕🦖 so we had to make a activity kit and have been having so much fun! The verse I chose to include with this set is Genesis 1:31: Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!
I wish there were more resources that talked about how God made dinosaurs when he made people (not millions of years ago!). Dinosaurs lived with people before going extinct and that's really neat! I know there are varying views on this, obviously, but I believe in a literal interruption of Genesis 1. I recommend checking out the website Answers in Genesis and reading what they have to say about dinosaurs, including this quote at the beginning of their page: "Dinosaurs were created by God on Day 6 of creation, approximately 6,000 years ago, and were originally vegetarian. During the global Flood, many were buried and fossilized but two of each kind survived on Noah’s Ark. They eventually died out, due to human activity, climate changes, or other factors."
Dinosaur Play Dough Activity Kit (and more)
Now, back to playing with dinosaurs ;)
This dinosaur printable activity set includes a play dough mat, homemade board game (just add a dice to play), tracing / coloring sheets, and a verse card. You will notice the verse is everywhere! There is a separate verse card (with 4 dinosaurs because I couldn't decide on my favorite), it is included on the play dough mat, on the game board, and on the coloring/tracing sheets.
Even though I assume most of the kids playing with this set can't read, these visuals are here for you, the mama/care giver, so that you can be reminded to read it whenever you do an activity. Constantly hearing scripture will help kids memorize naturally and can bring about great discussion too!
Grab the FREE printables including the verse cards, board game and play dough mat HERE!
And then just add dinosaurs! Here's what is included in our dino kit (click for the amazon affiliate links)
They can be hard to find, so I'd love some more recommendations, but here's some creationist books about dinosaurs that we have (or want to get, we don't own Indescribable yet). *amazon affiliate links
And just for fun, chalk is a wordless book that my kids love because they can make up the story. If you don't own any wordless books yet, I definitely recommend checking them out!
Dinosaur Songs
Just for fun, we love this song by Laurie Berkner, We are the Dinosaurs!
And here's a song with motions to help your kids learn Genesis 1:31.
What other dinosaur activities do your kids love?
I'd love to hear about them so please share in the comments. We are always looking for more dinosaur fun! I hope these printables and activity ideas are able to provide your kids with hours of entertainment as well.
There is so much to explore with construction and trucks! I had a lot of fun creating this sensory kit and my kids definitely loved playing the trucks. (Side note: yes, girls can like trucks too, but it might help that she has a big brother!) The homemade play dough and all of the loose parts kids can move around in the trucks is what makes this set so much fun and keeps them entertained for so long too.
Like many of you, I am home with my toddler and preschooler this year - no school and no Sunday School / nursery at church either. Sigh. But we are making the best of it! This year is going to be fun! And while I don't want to do a formal preschool curriculum, I want to make sure we are having fun, using our imagination and exploring some academic concepts as well.
In addition to that I want to help my kids start to hide God's word in their heart. So that means reading our children's Bible (we love the Jesus Storybook Bible), reading scripture to my kids, and listening to Seeds Family Worship(amazon affiliate links). I'm also including a Bible Verse in each themed sensory set that we do. This set is Colossians 3:23 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men (people).
The possibilities really are endless with a sensory kit like this, but sometimes it can be helpful to have ideas on what topics to work on, so here's a few ways you can use the activities in this kit:
Colossians 3:23 Memory Verse:Put
the card up and read it when you talk by it throughout the day. talk about what
this means to you.
For example, this means all the work I do is important
because it’s doing it for God. Even if no one sees, God always sees our hard
work and is proud of us!
Free printables include the memory verse card, symbol verse coloring page, partial tracing coloring page (shown) and then a full tracing coloring page as well.
Game:
Add a dice and some game pieces
(you can use rocks from the kit) and have fun! 10
frame: Have
child count out 10 by putting one rock in each box.
Havethemputacertainnumber away inatruckandask
how many are left in the frame.
Ask them out count out any number by placing rocks on the form. Combine trees/rocks/logs to make 10! There are so many ways to explore
number concepts visually using the 10 frame.
Additional

My two and a half year old recently decided she was terrified of bugs. This meant she would scream every time she saw a bug. And this made eating outside impossible. And we love eating outside because we don't have to sweep the floor afterwards! ;)
So on a mission to desensitize her to bugs, while also throwing in some educational and busy activities, I created these bug themed activities for both her and my almost five year old.
In addition to educational and fun bug activities, I really wanted to work on some scripture memorization with my kids, especially since they aren't attending Sunday School or nursery at church.
Since my kids don't read yet, I used my symbol writer from Widgit Online that I use to create special education materials. This way they can "read" the pictures!
This small scripture card is fun to use with these bug erasers. We can cover up a picture every time we say a word or cover the words and take them off as we recite the verse from memory!
Working on tracing and coloring is always fun too!
Here they can sort through the bugs and match to the bugs on the card. The bug tongs are fun to use to capture and inspect real bugs too!
I love this book, "All God's Bugs". It talks about all the bugs God created, counting, and has suggested activities at the end and stickers to place on each page.
We also used the bug erasers to graph and sort the bugs.
(On the back side of this graph there is a sorting page with four circles to sort the erasers by type.)
All pre-made kits have been sold out. A bug kit includes:
12 vinyl bugs and laminated matching page
15 mini erasers to sort and graph
1 set of bug grabber tongs
laminated memory verse with symbols for beginning readers
memory verse coloring pages with symbols or tracing
All God’s Bugs sticker and activity book
NOT INCLUDED: add your own bin and a sensory filler such as rice, lentils, beans or shredded paper
Need more? Add on extra tongs or books!
